LAKE CHARLES – (December 16, 2021) Sage Oak of Lake Charles, a new boutique assisted living and memory care community continuing its innovative vision on the bayou, has just won the Stand-Alone Memory Care category in the 2021 Architecture and Design award from industry publication Senior Housing News.
With its intimate environment of only 16 residents per care home (five homes total), open areas including the kitchen, a full-time chef for each home, and an effective 1:5 to 1:8 caregiver-to-resident ratio, Sage Oak of Lake Charles carries out a vision that is a 180 from the typical, ‘big box’ senior living operators.
“The community feels more like a neighborhood and a family,” says Jeremy Fruge, Executive Director of Sage Oak of Lake Charles. “Those who are looking into assisted living or memory care are not used to this level of care in an intimate setting like ours. We are happy to be providing this unique option to families in Lake Charles and surrounding areas.”
“We are extremely proud to see this recognition for our community,” said Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter. “Sage Oak is providing much needed services to one of the most important segments of our population. As we move forward on the path of rebuilding after recent natural disasters, it is a wonderful feeling to know that not only are our senior citizens being cared for, but that they are being cared for at a place that was designed to feel like home. We congratulate Sage Oak on this much deserved recognition and thank them again for their investment in our community.”
