Lake Charles Family Hosts Thank You Reception for Senior Living Caregivers

Sage Oak of Lake Charles recently hosted a unique and touching event honoring former beloved resident Diana L., whose family wanted to pay tribute to her and her caregivers.

During the filming of promotional videos for Sage Oak on March 12, 2024, Nemo L. spoke fondly of his wife, Diana, who was a resident at the time. Sadly, Diana passed away shortly after that, on March 25.

The promotional video featuring Nemo has become a beautiful memorial for the family. To express their gratitude for Diana’s care at Sage Oak of Lake Charles, Nemo and his daughters hosted a reception on May 4, 2024.

The event allowed the family to thank Sage Oak’s dedicated caregivers and staff, who provided Diana with a supportive and caring environment.

A Love Story That Spans Decades

Nemo and Diana’s love story began at Aliskey Park in Beaumont, TX, where they met as teenagers. Their connection was instant, and despite a brief separation, they rekindled their romance and married young — Diana at 16 and Nemo at 18, with Nemo serving in the Navy at that time. Their love blossomed and endured for an incredible 64 years, which they would have celebrated this April. The couple had four daughters, and their story of love and commitment inspires all.
